Elizabeth moved to stand in an open area that seemed to be open enough to keep watch on all sides.

She shifts her pack on her shoulder more comfortably before turning to give a raised brow to the others.

"Here good for the night?"

It gives her something to do at least, idleness not coming naturally to her. Besides, how else can she show her gratitude for their company than by caring?

"During the war there were great machines...the Kolder brought great metal crawlers to knock down walls and spit fire I'm told..." she mused quietly.

[And I'm away to work :'(]

Well, she's occupied company then, and perhaps that is a good thing. It leaves her less ability to fret.

"Your Cars are not machines of war then...but do they also run on some strange energy? Once the supply lines were cut, it was almost as if the war crawlers starved to death I'm told, freezing and no longer moving..."

Well, Khemrys will certainly look out for her then, and perhaps the girl herself may even learn to relax somewhat in turn.

"And there ae many of these machines?" she asked curiously, trying to picture a land where it could be so. It seems rather...impersonal in her mind. Horses did not like her blood, she could watch them from afar, and many sought solace in them...could they do the same for machines?

Oh dear, Khemrys shopping in Modern America is no doubt going to cause a great many headaches in all directions...and a spa would get questioned about what herbs are in what...

"Gunnora..." she whispered, eyes going wide. She...wasn't certain of that many people in the Dales, much less ways to move them...the number is almost mind boggling in a social sense. "Why ever would so many live so close together?"

No doubt she'd cause as much culture shock as she herself experienced. No vendor or merchant would ever be the same, whether they saw her as charming or srange!

"It seems fair strange to contemplate, Lady" she admitted quietly. "You must live like so many ants or bees, all one upon the other..."

Point, though with her old world mannerisms she'd probably end up drawing attention she'd fane like.

"I cannot truly imagin living like that...to not step outside into some garden or meadow, instead to face more keeps and holdings with more people..." she shook her head softly. no doubt she'd adapt should such be necessary...but for now, she can't imagine.

She would need such support, and who better than sister-kin to give it?

"I imagine they would...everyone needs to simply touch the earth at times..." there ae slow ways to die, that of soul death where that connection to earth simply...wanes and snaps.

Jason would...no doubt not have such time for her. And shopping in her world...is a far different experience. Relaxing by shopping, an entirely new idea.

"Especially then" she noted gently, rising once more and coming to sit beside Eizabeth with the comb.

It is true that most markets are left as the province of women...lest they beast markets or metalsmithies it seems. Perhaps they could take Jason to a beast market to prevent his boredom?

"A fair shame, when days can be full enough with the simple things" she noted, certainly not knowing what computers are. Such simple things as hair brushing.

As long as they avoid the horse market, they should be fine. Horses did not care for her.

Indeed, though cooking is often a task that can be set to care for itself slowly...much can be done at the same time. "If you wish" she agreed. "A computer is...like a servant?" Perhaps it's her own cat like tendencies, but her combing is much like petting...

Yes, it's a fair shame that such creatures avoid them. They are indeed magnificent from afar.

Unless rice is in soup, then it tends to survive quite well. "Do you not miss books? For such recipes and stories? And instruments for the music? It seems...a fair shame to replace such" she noted idly, setting the comb down and starting to braid portions of her hair. Just for fun now, she'd set the large braid later.

"Strange, fair strange" she mused quietly. Somehow it just sounds...unhealthy in some way. Like lord's bread, without nourishment, but preffered.

And there are many small braids! Looped about each other carfully. She used to pretend that her mother was still a Lady, playing with her hair and making her beautiful...

Khemrys no doubt would fair hound such should they meet, being a healer. Chase them bodily out into sunshine and wind once more...but she is willfull enough to adapt to almost anything, truth told. She won't run from Elizabeth's world. "With family within it, how could I truly dislike it?"

No, not wrong in the least, though, alas, she has no hair pins, so it would no doubt slip...but it'd just be an excuse to do something else.
