OOM - Camping Out

Elizabeth moved to stand in an open area that seemed to be open enough to keep watch on all sides.

She shifts her pack on her shoulder more comfortably before turning to give a raised brow to the others.

"Here good for the night?"

Jason snickers sleepily.

"Remind me not to let you wake me, Khemrys. I'd hate to find myself in a lake."

His tone is teasing and he gives a lazy smile.
"Khemrys, do you need any help with that? I'm sure Elizabeth would love to help."

He grins, waiting for the inevitable slap.

*Yrael chuckles.* The stream isn't that far away. I am sure I could figure something out by the time I need to wake you, Jason.

*Getting to his feet, he stretches.* I shall take to my post then, I suppose.

Elizabeth doesn't slap Jason. She shoves his shoulder, hard. "I'm sure you would love to help also Jason. I think I heard somewhere that your cooking was delicious."

A lie, really. But it's usually true for most shifters in their world.

Kemrys manages to flip a fish out of the way of the friendly tussling just in time. "Yes, take care" she added to Elizabeth's well wishing.

A good portion of the fish were being sliped into the pot to simmer overnight for breakfast. Four though were being herbed and spitted to roast. It would do for this night.

Jason snickers as he falls to his side.

"Only if you've been eating garbage. I can make some basics, but why bother when so many delivery places know me already?"

"I'll see you in a few, Yrael," he adds. He pulls his pack behind his head, getting comfortable.
"Oh, that fish smells great."

Something tells me he'll change his tune in a year.

I shall take care; do not worry. I shall be watching over you.

*A grin, and then Yrael slinks over to a large hardwood tree. A few seconds climbing puts Yrael at the base of a thick branch which stretches halfway across the clearing which is the travelers' camp. Yrael pads gingerly along its length, settling at a fork in the branch so he can see the entire camp.*

Elizabeth gives a small laugh. "Heart be-still me, you mean my cooking is better than yours?"

She edges Jason with her foot, because he's laying down and she can. She then takes a deep breath, exhaling contently at the smell of the fish. "I have to agree. Leave me in charge of that and it wouldn't smell that good."

Khemrys just chuckled softly, watching the spitted fish cook "'Tis naught" she assured quietly. Once certain that none of eh food was in imminent peril, she begna to unroll her blanket, settling her pack at one end for a pillow. She's not tired yet, but sleep is something you gather while you can.

"Which is why we should be glad to have Khemrys with us. Well, that and it is her world after all."

He watches Khemrys set up her blanket with interest.

"You going to sleep all the way over there?"

Elizabeth gives a smile. "Not only would we starve in human form, but we'd be lost as well."

Elizabeth tilts her head towards Khemrys as she reaches for her own pack. She settles next to Jason, shifter close.

"You can come closer, Khemrys. We won't bite." She gives a glance at Jason. "Right?"

Khemrys glanced down at her bedroll, then up once more, seeing nothing wrong with the spot she'd chosen. "If t would be a comfort, I could move closer..." she offered, truly puzzled.

He gives his best 'innocent' look.

"Not unless she asks nicely."

He chuckles and gestures to the spot in front of Elizabeth.
"It would at least be warmer for you. Sorry if it seems odd, we're just a little more used to sleeping a bit closer than most people."

Elizabeth rolls her eyes at Jason, though it's very dramatized.

"Always willing to please, aren't you." It's said with an amused tease.

Elizabeth settles out her bedding before stretching out on it, very much like that cat she can be.
"Very much closer." Is her lazy response.

And she may be niave, but some innuendo she simply can't help but catch. Something dark flashes in her eyes for a moment, but it's probably the firelight as she shakes her head with a regretful smile. "I rarely seem to sllep well I'm afraid, and would not see your sleep disturbed by my thrashing." a polite way to give them what privacy she could.

Jason cocks his head lazily, only giving a half-hearted poke at Elizabeth, muttering, "Wouldn't you like to know?"

"Are you sure? I know for a fact Nathaniel thrashes more than you ever could, so I don't think you'll bug Elizabeth that much."

His smile is innocent this time.

She gives Jason a look that should read along the lines of 'We discussed that already'.

She then gives a nod. "Usually due to nightmares from the way he can whimper in his sleep at times. Though, sleeping close to Pard or Pack usually helps calm him, maybe it will be the same for you?"

"But sleep is far more important here, in these lands" she noted quietly. "I'd not forgive myself for waking you"

And look, fish really doesn't take long to cook...she's passing spits and eyeing the trees above them for any hint of Yrael...

Jason takes the fish with a grateful nod. He's well aware of her discomfort, but simply attributes it to the more human notions of groups of people sleeping together.

"We won't force you. Just an offer."

He starts in on his fish. It was even better than it smelled.
"It's fantastic, Khemrys."

Elizabeth takes her's with a thankful smile. Having to sit up to actually eat it and all, gets a small sigh. Lazy cat.

"I highly doubt that you thrash as much as Nathaniel. Plus, sleeping with someone like that makes you aware and able to comfort but not actually wake up unless there's a need. At least that I've found."

Elizabeth eats her fish slowly, savoring the taste that goes along so well with the smell. "Very." Is the muffled agreement from her.

But it simply...isn't a good thing to intrude if they are courting, even if by standards she does not know. It wouldn't be fair...

"It is a kindness" she answered softly "But please do rest" that said, she shrugged out of her shirt and trews once more, shifting and picking up her own portion and Yrael's before essaying the trees.

Jason follows her with his eyes, then shakes his head.

"Sometimes I wish I could understand you women."

He tosses the empty spit aside and flops back down, holding an arm out for Elizabeth.

"Let's get some sleep."

Elizabeth disguards of her spit, as her eyes follow Khemrys as well.

"Sometimes I wish I could as well?" Because even they don't understand each other fully at times.

She gives a last glance at were Khemrys had gone before curling up next to Jason comfortably. A sleep heavy responce from her. "Sleep sounds good."
