Elizabeth gave a small puff of air to try and move the strand of hair that had fallen in her face. Irritatingly, it hadn't worked. She shifted the offensive strand behind her ear as she jotted a couple things down.

It had been almost a year, her time, since she'd been to Milliways. Not because she had been too busy but because her door had disappeared. It had saddened her that she couldn't get to the friends she had there but life in the world moves on. Hers did. She and Caleb were still living together in her apartment, and it had turned into a more comfortable arrangement than it had been a while back. The Pack and Pard had finally warmed up to her new attitude, though it had taken a fair while. Not that she could really blame them for being wary at first. She had just become the sole manager for the Lunitic Cafe. The Thronnos Rokke Clan still maintained ownership of the establishment, but with a little help from Anita and the fact that no one else really wanted to do it, she got the job.

The books for the Cafe had been immaculately kept while Raina had run the place and had become a chaotic mess after her death. Elizabeth had spent the last three days in the back office trying to clean them up, and she was only about halfway done. A knock at the door made her glance up for a moment while she took in the scent before she went back to her work. "Come in."

The door opened and Jacob entered, carrying a cup of coffee and a plate with a steak sandwich and fries. The brunette wolf hovered there, not saying a word but not putting the food down and leaving either. And Elizabeth didn't do well with hovering, though she kept her temper under surprising control. Jacob wasn't only new to the Pack but he was new enough to being a wolf that he didn't have the greatest control when others lost their control. Her voice however held the fine trim of anger at him hovering, "What?"

She didn't see him do it but she just knew that he swallowed before he answered hesitantly. "There isn't anywhere to put this..."

She paused in her work and looked around for a brief moment. It surprised her that he was right. The spot that lunch had sat at originally was now covered, like the rest of the desk, with paperwork. "Oh..." It wasn't an apology for her snappy word, but she did shift some piles to make room for the offered food. "Thanks Jacob." She said with a smile as he put the food down.

Jacob returned the smile, "No Problem. We're closing up downstairs and I figured with you working up here you hadn't realized how late it was."

Elizabeth gave a small frown and glanced at the clock on the wall. Her eyes grew bigger when she realized that it was so late. "Geez, time flies when you're working doesn't it." She gave a soft rub to her temple.

Jacob had moved to the doorway and glanced over his shoulder. "Another past hours night?"

Taking a sip of coffee, she gave a nod to the wolf. "Oh yea. I need to at least finish up what I'm working on."

Jacob gave a nod. "Don't wear yourself out too much." He gave a wave before closing the door quietly behind him and Elizabeth got back to work.

A couple of hours later found Elizabeth closing up the files that she had finished, the plate of food empty and the crumbs cold. Tidying up her desk, Elizabeth rubbed her temples as she got up and walked to the door. Giving one last look at the office, she opened the door and stepped through.
