OOM - Settling In

It has been several days since Elizabeth had come back from Milliways. Chimera was dead and Micah's Pard had permanently joined with her's, or well, Anita's. She had watched Caleb's interaction in the Pard and it was about as friendly as her's, so it wasn't really a surprise to anyone when Caleb moved into Elizabeth's apartment. She wasn't sure if it was going to be a permanent thing, but it was working for now.

Elizabeth moved about the kitchen, getting the the tea kettle ready for boiling. The Chinese food had already been ordered, so she was busying herself until it arrived. Caleb was off somewhere so the apartment was quiet. Normally she'd say that quiet was a good thing, but she was forced with sorting out the fuzzy memories that racked her brain that had people she was positive weren't in her world. The only solid proof that she wasn't suffering from some form of schizophrenia was the necklace that hung around her neck. She hadn't taken it off short of showers, partially for fear of feeling that she was really going crazy. How do you find your way back to somewhere to confirm what's in your head when you got there by being shot in the heart? Caleb had been questioning the necklace since she'd been better and having someone else question her had finally caught up with her. She'd thrown him into a brick wall one night on the way home and he'd stopped asking since. Though she knows that he wants to ask when he glances at it, but he's kept his control over his tongue.

She pulled herself out of her thoughts when she smelled the chinese food getting closer to her door. Footsteps and a knock officially announced the foods arrival, though Elizabeth was already at the door with money. The delivery guy didn't motion to get change or ask, as there was no need to. She ordered the same thing all the time and it only increased once when Caleb moved in. So it was still a steady price. She always made the price an even dollar amount and never asked for change, she thinks that was why her food always arrived fast and piping hot. She moved to the kitchen with the bag of food and sorted it out on the counter. Half of it stayed on the counter, the other four containers, utensils, and a her largest mug filled with tea were skillfully balanced as she moved into the living room. The room was dark with only the menu of the dvd on the tv to light it, the volume had been muted to keep the quiet.

She's just settled onto the couch comfortably when she hears the door open and a test of the air told her it was Caleb a moment before she heard him. "I smell food!"

Elizabeth gave a chuckle before answering. "It's on the counter."

Caleb settled himself next to Elizabeth after getting his four containers and a two litter of coke and a glass. "What's on the menu for visual entertainment tonight?"

She flipped the dvd box at him. "Resident Evil: Apocalypse."

Caleb grinned as he looked at the cover. "Kick ass chick in chain mail armor. Can't get much better than that!"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes with a laugh as she un-muted the tv and hit the play button. "Only you would think that, Caleb."

He gave her his best innocent look, which wasn't very really. "You know more than just me love the fact that her wardrobe is made of tiny little metal circles."

She waves a hand at him to get him to shush as the movie actually started and they went about watching the movie, eating, and curling up once the food was gone.
